About the Role
We’re looking for an experienced Fibre Optic Network Splicer to help us bring ultrafast connectivity to even more homes and businesses. This is a hands-on role where no two days are the same. From fibre installation to testing, troubleshooting and delivering great customer experiences, you’ll play a vital part in shaping our growing network.
What You’ll Be Doing
Installing optical fibre cable into distribution points, fibre enclosures and patch panels on new and existing networks
Splicing and testing external/internal optical fibres to customer premises using Fusion Splicer, OTDR and ILM — taking pride in delivering exceptional quality
Diagnosing and resolving faults on live and new networks
Updating records, reporting completed works and accurately documenting any changes
Taking part in a rota-based 24-hour call-out team for emergency repairs
Working independently and as part of a tight-knit team to achieve targets and KPIs
Promoting and maintaining the highest standards of Health & Safety at all times
Supporting the wider team with any reasonable duties to ensure a great installation experience for our customers
What We’re Looking For
A full UK driving licence (held for at least 12 months)
Valid NRSWA Street Works Operative card
Confident reading and updating schematics, duct diagrams and as-built records
Strong background in fusion splicing and OTDR testing on fibre networks
Comfortable working at heights and within the underground network
A great communicator with a positive, can-do attitude
Someone who puts safety first — always
