Truespeed appoints Nelson Missier as the new CEO to lead the next phase of growth.

Truespeed has announced that CEO James Lowther will be moving on at the end of the year, with Nelson Missier stepping up to lead Truespeed as CEO from his current role as Chief Commercial Officer.

Nelson has a wealth of experience across the Media and Telecoms sector and has been instrumental in the growth of Truespeed to be one of the strongest Alt-net brands in the UK.  He brings 25 years of experience in the media and telecoms sector, including as Managing Director for Europe for Storytel and prior to that as Commercial Director for Tele2 in Sweden.  Prior to that Nelson has also worked for The BT Group, Booz & Company and Vodafone India.

Nelson Missier commented:

“I would like to thank James for leading us to a strong position with significant customer and financial growth over the last four years; he has been pivotal to scaling up Truespeed from a start-up in the Southwest to a fast-growing company with a strong, collaborative culture and best-in-class capabilities. We wish him the very best in his next adventure.

I am excited to lead the business as we continue to deliver truly better broadband to our customers in the Southwest & East of England. With a strong challenger brand, an exceptional product, and a committed team behind me, I look forward to growing Truespeed’s customer base and profitability.”

James Lowther added:

“It will be an emotional day when I leave Truespeed and its excellent team of dedicated and motivated individuals which stretches from the Directors throughout the whole company. I am proud that this team has, since I joined in December 2021, transformed Truespeed into a dynamic business, growing from 31,000 to 177,000 connectable properties and growing our customer base from 9,000 to now over 41,000, whilst building and maintaining a near perfect Trustpilot score.

Nelson has played a significant part in this success; he is a highly capable leader who has been at the heart of driving the development of Truespeed into the excellent brand we have today.  I am delighted to be passing the baton to Nelson and have every confidence that with this capable and motivated team he will continue to drive the business forward at pace.  I’m looking forward to supporting Nelson with the transition over the remainder of the year.

I’d like to thank our Investors, the Board and the entire team at Truespeed for all their support, hard work and dedication over the past four years.”

Truespeed Chairman, Clarke Osborne added:

“I do not underestimate the significant achievements of James, who has transformed Truespeed into the dynamic, motivated and achieving company that it is today and is set well to continue its growth. Importantly, he has built and motivated an excellent team of people who continuously seek to improve.

I speak for the whole Board in thanking James for his dedication and hard work that has transformed Truespeed and in wishing him every success for the future. He has been a pleasure to work with.

We are very fortunate that the CCO Nelson Missier, a senior member of the Truespeed Executive team, has the experience, capability and motivation to step seamlessly into the role of CEO, leading the Truespeed team and steering the company through its next phases of growth.”
