Are you a seasoned network engineer with a passion for operational excellence? Truespeed is looking for a Senior Network Engineer (Operations) to help drive the performance, stability, and evolution of our high-speed network infrastructure. Support the smooth and efficient day-to-day operation of the entire Truespeed network and interconnections.
Proactively monitor network performance, identify and resolve issues, and lead improvements.
Diagnose complex network problems, conduct root cause analysis, and implement solutions.
Lead on implementing and supporting network monitoring and automation tools.
Contribute to network roadmap planning and change implementation in collaboration with design authorities.
Take ownership of post-incident reviews (PIRs) and detailed documentation, including diagrams and configuration steps.
Oversee network capacity planning, customer activation, and resilience strategies.
Mentor and support network engineers, offering guidance and leading improvement projects.
Manage vendor relationships and procure necessary network hardware/software.
Act as a key escalation point and provide cover for the Network Operations Manager as needed.
Participate in the on-call rota to support 24/7 operations and incident response.
Experience working in an Internet Service Provider or Data Centre environment.
Strong technical knowledge of network infrastructure and equipment.
Expertise in optical Ethernet, IP transmission, routing protocols (including BGP and ISIS).
Understanding of FTTH technology and experience troubleshooting fibre performance issues.
Familiarity with network vendors and staging/testing of networking equipment.
Hands-on experience with network automation tools.
Excellent problem-solving and documentation skills.
Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts.
Proven ability to supervise and mentor technical teams.
Certifications such as CCNA or CCIE are desirable but not essential.
