That’s why, with the cost-of-living crisis impacting local businesses throughout the South West, we set out to help alleviate some of their financial stresses and strains by providing them with free, compostable and recyclable coffee cups.

The initiative has so far seen us deliver over 40,000 cups to six independent cafés across the South West, all of which are supported by – and run for – their local communities.

As well as staying true to our mantra of supporting local businesses, doing so also means alleviating independent cafés of a significant cost during a time when many are feeling the pinch.

“Truespeed delivered 10,000 compostable coffee cups and lids both to us here at Portishead Open Air Pool, and our associates café, Café Lido, towards the end of 2022.”, says Andy Thatcher of the Portishead Pool Community Trust.

“The money we’ve saved has really helped the café through quite a difficult time, where, currently, many establishments are struggling. It’s been a real benefit to us and the community, as we’re a social hub for the town of Portishead.”

“I’d like to extend a big thanks to everyone at Truespeed for the thousands of cups they’ve given us in recent months,” adds Andy of The Meeting Place Coffee Shop in Peasedown St John.

“They’ve been a generous gift, and have helped us through these difficult times in which the cost of everything is rising.”

We also delivered cups to local rugby club Clevedon RFC, as part of our ongoing sponsorship agreement.

“Everyone at the club would like to say thank you to Truespeed for the sponsorship of both our reusable plastic cups,” says Clevedon RFC’s Tom Weaver, “and for providing us with cups to use for our business on match days.

“Truespeed’s support has allowed us to work towards our aim of reducing our use of single-use plastics throughout our business – something that otherwise wouldn’t have been possible.”

We’re always on the lookout for new and impactful ways in which we can support and benefit our communities, in any way we can.
